Who's Your Team, Tough Guy?

To the Anonymous idiot in the two previous posts (you know who you are)--I have a couple of questions for you. My team won again today against University of Miami. Should I feel proud today, or what? I mean, since you seem to know exactly how I am supposed to feel, will you please tell me when it is OK to feel good that my team won? I tell ya what, every Saturday that OU plays and wins, please contact me and tell me if it's OK to celebrate. According to your sorry ass logic, I can only celebrate when we beat a team that is as good as us. Which, judging by the way the last two games have gone, could take a while until we find one. Also, who the hell is YOUR team? Did they win last week and today? If so, by all means, please celebrate. And another thing, if you're going to come on my blog and make a dumb ass comment, at least leave your name.

Dash and Albert Rugs

I love these indoor/outdoor rugs from Dash and Albert. There is one under my kitchen table now. The other day I noticed that it was looking a little dirty under little "C"s chair so I took it outside and hosed it off. When I brought it back inside it looked as if I had just purchased it. This is definitely a must buy for anyone with kids.

Are You Ready?

Are you ready? That's right, are you ready? College football season is here! We don't have any pro teams here in out town. We don't have any sporting events really, except for college sports. And, nothing is more exciting in this state than college football. Just like some of you are somewhat obsessed MLBA (e.g. Red Sox), this state and I are obsessed with college football. My son's first birthday is in October, and I will have to plan his party around football games. As crazy as it may sound, I will probably never be able to have his party on a day when OU has a home game. Sad, but true.

With this being said, my Sooners opened up a can of whoop ass on North Texas yesterday. (Did I just say "whoop ass"? See? This is how crazy college football makes me) I'll save you from the details, but let's just say OU was pretty much unstoppable. OK, so North Texas is a bit weak. But, it felt good yesterday. We play Miami next week, so I'm sure the score won't be as lop-sided. Unlike North Texas, Miami apparently has players who can throw, pass, run and tackle. Just a rumor though.
Here's to a great fall football season everyone!! Boomer Sooner!

Bear Hugs

Little J started preschool yesterday and I was quite nervous--for him or me, I 'm not sure. I couldn't sleep the night before and I woke up early just to be sure that everything went well in the morning. I let him pick out his clothes. He wore madras shorts and his white FBI shirt that Big G got him in D.C. He looked very handsome--and quite professional too. We walked to the car and I buckled him in. We drove down our street and left our neighborhood and I realized that this day is the first of many days ahead of me where I have to "let my child go". I was letting him go into the hands of teachers and professionals who love him and I was scared that in the not too distant future I would be letting him go into the hands of his Kindergarten teacher, then high school teachers, then college professors, then, I didn't know who would have Little J. Where have the last 3 years of our time together gone? It went way too fast for me.
As I walked him to his room, he clung to my leg like a monkey. But, he finally let go and walked like the biggest boy that he is right into his room, and immediately admired the guinea pig. Did he need me? No. Did he cry? No. Was he smiling? Yes. I realized that he will be needing me less and less as the years go by. Was I OK with this? I didn't quite know.
I picked him up in car pool. When I went around to buckle him in, he gave me the biggest smile and the biggest bear hug I have ever received. Right then I knew he had a wonderful day. Right then I knew that it was OK that he was growing up and becoming more independent. I was doing my job as a mother and nurturing his independence and in turn making him more confident. I would always be his mother. He would always need a bear hug from me. I will remember that bear hug the rest of my life.

First Day of School!

I can't believe summer is almost over. It seems like it has just begun. There was still so much left that I wanted to do with you guys and now you will be in school. I will miss you two running around the house the non stop chatter echoing through the house. I may even miss the fighting at times.

To my oldest: Little P

I can hardly believe that you are already entering the 2nd grade. There are times that I wonder where the time went. How did you get big so fast? You are in fact becoming a young man. I see your daddy in you more and more everyday. I am so glad that you got his strong mental toughness and his athletic ability because if you had mine it would be a scary site. Always remember to be true to yourself and you will go very far. I love you my special 1st born child.

To my darling middle child: Little D

Holy cow, Kindergarten already! Last night when we were cuddling before bed I told you that before long you will be graduating from High School. The thought of this makes me so sad inside because it is so true. Little D you have so much spunk and vigor! There are times when you may do something or say something and I feel like I am seeing your Aunts as a child. You remind me so much of her at times. I say Aunts because you have a little bit of both of them in your personality. There are times when I don't worry about you starting or doing something new because you have such a strong spirit. You have no fear and look at new things as an adventure rather than a task. I love these things about you. I love you so much and I am so proud of everything you do. Have a great 1st year in school!

Happy Birthday!

Two years ago today I received my 3rd gift from God. Little "C" you have truly been a challenge since day one. I guess you could say you broke the mold the day you were born. You have such a fun and energetic personality. In fact, your dad and I sometimes sit back and watch you in amusement. I can't believe that 2 years have already flown by it, seems like yesterday that I was holding you in my arms for the very 1st time. Now I can hardly keep up with your increasing energy.
Happy Birthday little "C" I love you so much!
Little "C" received the above shirt from Cute Little Clothes.

High School Musical 2

It is finally here, 9 hours to be precise. My kids are so excited they can hardly stand it. They are each having a friend over tonight to watch the big movie. Big C is staying at the club with little C to swim so that he will not disturb the big night. Plus tomorrow we are going to the High School Musical live show put on by our local Lyric Theater. Suffice to say mom is going to be High School Musical out by Sunday!
Have a great weekend everybody!!

The New Fall Line At Orient Expressed

Has anybody else seen the new fall line at Orient Expressed? They have some really cute outfits right now. I really like the matching brother and sister red outfit for Christmas. I like the idea of removing the Christmas trees and then adding their monogram to it. That way they can get a lot more wear out of one outfit. My little girl will be 6 in November and she is starting to refuse the smocked dresses. I am hoping I can entice her with the dress with the smocked purses. I'll let you know how this turns out.

Lap Top Lunch Boxes

With the first day of school right around the corner, I know a lot of you out there are tired of deciding what to fix your little one's for lunch, or are just tired of figuring out what to take for lunch when you go to work. I found this great produt that is not only evivronmentally friendly, but it comes with a handy book on different ideas for lunches. It's called Lap Top Lunches and it was created by two moms who wanted to cut down on waste that was created whenever they packed their kids' lunch. The boxes are based on Japanese bento boxes with reusable compartments for everthing that you can think of packing! The outer contaner serves as a cover for the whole unit with small lids to keep small dips or liquids safe!
Update: Lap Top Lunches is offering a 5% discount on their product. Just enter the code FV806.

Mickey Mouse Cake?

My youngest son's birthday is in about 1.5 weeks. He will be 2 and I feel like it was just yesterday that I was pregnant with him. His favorite show right now is obviously Mickey Mouse as you can see from the cakes above. I am having trouble deciding which one to choose. I found this local lady who will make a special cake for little C that will be made especially for him. Which is just a awesome because there aren't too many people who are willing to do this. She told me that if she did the top cake then his cake could be Donald Duck. If she does the bottom one she will leave out all the non-Mickey characters and add all the rest of the Mickey gang. She would then make his little cake a mini Mickey. I think both are darling, but this being his 2nd birthday I just want everything to be perfect. Which one would you choose?

Home Alone

This weekend the kids and I are home alone thanks to Big H going to Washington D.C.---for pleasure! That's right, he's there acting as somewhat of a tour guide for my father and brother-in-law (S#1's husband). Big H clerked in D.C. for a couple of summers. My father is quite a history buff and has never been to D.C. I know he is in heaven there. Plus, he is also a hug St. Louis Cardinals fan, so the boys are going to a couple of games against the Nationals. They went to Capital Grill last night and Big H said it was one of the best meals he has ever had! Just got off the phone with Big H and they were at the Library of Congress.

I, on the other hand, put the kids to bed and paid bills. Not exciting. At all. The kids are on the verge of driving me crazy (so far they have been somewhat good) and Big H does not return until Sunday. Let's hope I can make it until then without having to drop off and leave the kids' in Wal-Mart's parking lot. I will say, however, that my alone time at night has been great! I can do whatever the hell I want! I do find it hard to sleep at night though b/c I hear EVERY noise. I guess having Big H by my side at night is security for me. Well, we are off to go play outside. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Summer by the Sea

Thought all of these little treasures would be great for all of you people who visit the beach and sea almost every weekend. I, however, am landlocked and would have to travel hundreds of miles to get to the sea. The lighthouse salt and pepper shakers are handcrafted from Maine. They cost a pretty penny too. $60 smokes for each one! A little steep for salt and pepper mills, if you ask me. You can find all of this at Williams Sonoma, but only online and in the catalog.

We've been tagged

Kerry from over at More, More, More tagged us. We are supposed to list 8 random facts about us and then tag 8 more people. I'm pretty sure everyone I know in the blog world has probably been tagged by now, so I tag whoever wants to do this. Also, S#1 sucks, so I'm doing the 8 random facts.

1. My office would make a great sitcom.

2. My boss, a partner in the firm, strictly prefers metro-sexual hair products. He's straight.

3. I'm a female democrat and I don't dig Hillary.

4. I prefer a day at the spa to sex. Ahhh, to be alone is heaven.

5. I don't know how to clean and it isn't hard to do.

6. Rob Schneider, especially in Hot Chick, is hilarious.

7. Kathy Griffin's new show on Bravo: hilarious. (Is there any chance she's a man?)

8. I've totally been reprimanded by a judge for my court attire. Seriously? Dude, I'm the best dressed person in this court room by far!!!

To Bee Named

Many of you may have already heard of the adorable store named To Bee Named. I love these adorable lobster cocktail napkins. Wouldn't they look even cuter with a monogrammed initial or name on them? What a great idea for a backyard party this summer. I am always looking forward to football season and can already picture some cute red cocktail napkins with a monogrammed OU on them. Perfect for tailgating parties or watch parties for away games. The 2nd picture is of a precious monogrammed reversible placemat. They have other patterns to pick from too which you can choose for the other side or change the monogram. Head on over there soon and maybe you can even knock out some early Christmas presents.

Weekend Update

Friday night we had a date night. We got a "real" baby sitter to watch the boys. "Real", in that it wasn't one of our parents watching the kids. Lately the grandparents have been busy and I feel that the older they get the harder it is to watch two children. Whenever we come home, the house is messy, the grandparents are tired, and usually they don't follow our advise. So, this time we got a girl that used to be one of Little J's teachers and it worked perfectly! She had the kids to sleep at the times we told her to AND she picked up! Love it. The only thing about grandparents watching the kids is that they are free--which always a plus.
Anyway, we haven't been to a movie in ages so we went to see the new Harry Potter movie. I really liked it and I almost cried when Sirius (sp?) Black died. I don't know why. I don't even read the books, but since I get into the movies so much, I think I'm going to have to start reading them. Plus, it would be nice to have them on hand for when the boys are older.
Saturday we really didn't do a whole lot. I got a haircut and I always feel good after a haircut. I also really like my hairdresser. He's funny and interesting to talk to, plus it was 2 hours without having to get someone a drink, snack, bottle, diaper or toilet paper! That evening, the family went to a new pizza place in town that is kind of in an artsy/hippie part of the city. They serve organic food, which is great b/c not too many places around here offer that. We ate outside and the food wasn't that bad.
Sunday nothing special happened. The highlight of my Sundays is when I get to watch Entourage--love that show and especially Kevin Dillon.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Oh, Little N is now officially a crawler!

Need Birthday Gift Ideas

My little girl is going to a birthday party for twins who are turning 8. We have known these little girls since birth so I am wanting to give them a special gift. I always like to give them each their own considering the twin thing. If any of you guys have any ideas I would welcome each of them. I could go to Target and just pick up any old thing, but considering that they are wonderful family friends I just can't do this.

Trip from Hell

Yesterday I went to Target for diapers. I took both kids--mistake number 1. I place Little N in the cart and proceed to the diaper area. Little N almost immediately begins to cry/whine. I hurry and purchase some Gerber puffy things to pacify him--Mistake number 2. Little J, noticing that Little N got something, begins to say that he wants something too. We end up in the toy section for, not kidding you, 15 minutes. He's telling me what he wants, I'm telling him that it's too expensive. He doesn't care. He wants the $25.00 transformer NOW!!!! He has no idea what this thing is. We have never seen the movie, never seen the cartoon and he has never played with the damn thing before in his life. So, why does he want it? Who the hell knows. People are looking at me now. Little N is getting restless. I'm getting impatient and I'm kind of starting to perspire a little more. I divert his attention to the cool pirate sword, which works. Well, as we are leaving the toy area, I notice that it's kind of hard and I really don't want to be hit with that thing nor the neighbor kids or Little N. I tell him we can't have it because it's too hard. He gets upset. We go back to the toy area, for about another 10 minutes. We finally end up with a blue light saber.--Mistake Number 3
At the check out Little J keeps ramming the shopping car with Little N in it into the cashier stand, laughing hysterically. Little N is scared and crying. The cashier is slow as shit. People are looking again. I'm tempted to leave the children at the check out stand. We finally pay. We are leaving and Little J is upset because he's not holding the light saber. I say you will get it in the car. He must have it NOW!!! I really want to hurt him. I don't give it to him in the car because he's not "using his normal voice." We get home and all hell has broken loose! What was supposed to be a simple freaking trip to Target for diapers ended up to be the trip from hell!
Oh, but as soon as Big H gets home both children turn on the charm and the hell stops. Why do they save this crap for just me?

MacKenzie-Childs has brought back an old favorite. It is called Brighton Pavilion and it is from the Taylor pattern. They also have this cute new bird called the pie bird. This just may have to be my next MacKenzie Childs purchase.

What Adorable Sweaters!

I was checking my email the other day and found these adorable sweaters on the daily stroll. They are from a company called Sweeters and I must say I think I would buy one every style. There are many styles to choose from for a boy and a girl and they are all hand knit. My little girl has a sweater that is hand knit with her initial D on the front. These sweaters kinda of remind me of that, but I think her sweater is from a different company. I know many of you aren't thinking about the winter season yet. However, I would definitely pop on over to the Sweeters web site today!

The Countdown Has Begun

Twelve days and counting! Is anybody else as excited as me? I have read each one and can honestly say that I finished each one in less than a week. Has anybody else ordered their Harry Potter book early?

4th of July Update

Little J had such a great time on Fourth of July. He woke up and went to a parade at my in-laws' neighborhood and scored lots of candy. Nice. He came home and we tried with everything we had to give him a nap because we knew it was going to be a late night with fireworks and all. Nap did not work. After Little N woke from his nap we went to some friends house for swimming and cook out. Little J fell asleep on the way to the house, by the way. Who says he still doesn't need a nap?
After the swimming, Big H took Little J to Big H's grandparent's house where their neighborhood was having games, face painting, bouncy house etc. for the little ones. At 10:00 the fireworks started and Little J LOVED them. I stayed home with Little N, but from Big H said, I really wished I could have been there to see Little J's face. This was the first year he has seen fireworks and I'm sorry I missed the moment. There is always next year, I know. But to miss the first time he has every seen them--I don't know, I just wish I could have experienced the moment with him.
Big H and Little J did not get home until 11:30!!!! Little J did not get in bed until MIDNIGHT!! He slept in until 9:00, but still I don't think that was enough sleep for a three year old. He didn't even nap today. Normally he would've been a huge crank monster, but he really wasn't today for some reason. I'm sure he's saving it for tomorrow, but that's OK because mama and papa are coming to get him so he can stay the night with them. Big H and I are going to an art exhibition that my neighbor is showing. It's something different and I think it will be fun. All I need to do is find someone to watch Little N--I'm still working on that and it's 9:30 on Thursday night! The are exhibition is tomorrow.... Wish me luck.

What to blog, what to blog??

I am literally in a blogging slump. I have nothing to say. Either my life is very boring and/or I am very boring and not creative--AT ALL! I really hope it is neither.

Let me think--we've had 20 days of continuous rain here. Great. No swimming, no trips to the park, no walks around the block, a lot of TV, a lot of whinning, a lot of bitching. Yep, that pretty much sums up much of my weekend.

Oh, there is one thing that I guess I'll bore you with. Big H and I went to a lunch that his uncle bought at a charity auction. The lunch was at a rather big home. We pulled into the drive way and I swear I thought we pulled into a museum parking lot. The house was AMAZING. Who are these people? What do they do for a living? The master bathroom was bigger than my family room. No joke. They had a leather game table and chairs set up in there to do puzzles on! (there was a half finished puzzle on the table). Her closet was bigger than my bedroom. Ridiculous. There was a wine cellar with hundres of wine; a cabana bigger than my upstairs. The kitchen was every woman's dream! The decor was not quite my style, but if someone gave me the house with the furniture I sure would not complain.

The lunch. Let's see, we had pre-dinner cocktails. With lunch we had wine, and with desert we had champagne called Sophia. Quite possibley one of the best champagnes I ever had. One of the ladies there mentioned that she and some other women gave a friend a baby shower and the friend was going to the name the baby Sophia. Needless to say they served Sophia champagne at the shower. I thought that was a cute idea.
With all the drinking I did, I was a little light headed on the way home. I guess I had a little buzz. Hmm. Maybe my weekend wasn't so much of a bust after all.......

Rain Rain Go Away...

The above rain gear from Kate Spade would be perfect for me today. Here in Oklahoma we have had 15 straight days filled with wonderful rain and they are forecasting rain everyday this week and into the beginning of next. In fact, the average rainfall for the year is around 30 something inches and we have almost met that mark and it is only the end of June. I know I shouldn't complain about the rain considering what is happening in Lake Tahoe, but the selfish side of me just wants my kiddos to be able to play outside and for us to go to the club and swim. It definitely doesn't feel like summer here quite yet. Then again we could be having 100 degree weather right now too. Some days I don't know which would be worse.
Happy Wednesday you guys!!!

Fun Sites

I was reading the paper the other morning and noticed an article on fun internet web sites. Thought I would pass along.

http://www.globalrichlist.com/ This one is interesting in that you can type in how much you earn in a year and it compares it to the rest of the world. You will definitley be able to see just how well off you actually are compared to other nations.

http://www.my-calorie-counter.com/ Here's a site for everyone who is on a health kick.

http://www.findyourspot.com/ This site asks questions about your prefereances on lifestyle, like weather, arts, lesisure, etc. Based on your answers it lists the cities that most fit your choices. My cities listed were Balitimore, Portland, Chicago, Eugene, OR., Fayetville, AR., and actually multiple cities in the North East popped up that I've never heard of. I'm so living in the wrong neck of the woods!

Have fun!

OmniPeace T's

The above t-shirts were seen recently on Courteny Cox and David Arquette. You can purchase them from Kitson and will cost you $65. A little steep for a t-shirt, but you should feel good because 50% of your money goes to OmniPeace. Their goal is to end hunger in Africa by the year 2025.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Last night was Little J's soccer party and tonight Little J attended a birthday party. Two different parties as you can see, and two different children showed up for each one.
At the soccer party Little J was a complete ASS! Crying, throwing, hitting, screaming, etc. Totally out of control. I was totally embarassed.

At the birthday party Little J was completely amazing! Played well, chatted with adults, listened to mommy. Totally perfect. I was totally impressed. Was this the same child from last night?

I needed a night like tonight because after last night I was really stressed and worried that maybe somthing was wrong with Little J. But, he's my little man. He came through for me.

We're Back!!!

We had such an incredible time at the beach. In fact, we have decided that we are definitely a beach vacation kind of family. I have already started researching Gulf Shores and Destin, FL. So if any of you guys have visited these places I would love some feedback. There are just so many choices and locations to choose from.

The highlight of my kids vacation was going to the beach at night to hunt for sand crabs. I thought my little girl would be reluctant in picking up these critters. However, she proved me wrong when she was the 1st one to pounce on one. One night I didn't go down to the beach for their adventure. Instead I had a little cocktail on our balcony. It looked like every kid on the island was down on the beach looking for sand crabs. All you could see were flashlights and screaming was an every few minuetes occurence.

One evening we went to this little restaurant overlooking the gulf. The best part of the whole evening was when they put on a little fireworks show out in the water. It was really pretty to see the fireworks rain down into the water. After the show I asked my kids if this could take the place of 4th of July fireworks. I didn't have any takers on this propisition.

You know you have done something right when your kids say "this is the best vacation ever!! Thank you daddy for bringing us."

So for you guys who have ever been to Destin or Gulf Shores let me know. I would love to hear from you.

Happy (Missing) Father's Day

Our Father's Day started out as any other Father's Day. Big H received a free pass from me to play golf in the morning. His tee time was at 8:30, so I was thinking at the latest he would be home around 1:00 or so. But, later, as he found out, it started raining heavily, so his game was cancelled and he received a rain check. He called me around 11:30 and leaves a message to tell me as much, and to say he was going to go to lunch with his golf buddies. I return his call at 12:30 to let him know I got his message and he says they're having lunch, yada yada yada. Fine. No big deal. We have nothing for lunch around here anyway.
1:00 rolls around--no Big H.
2:00--still MIA
3:00 after being gone 71/2 hours, he comes strolling in the house. I was mad. I thought Father's Day was about being with your family, not with your friends. I tell him this. He says I'm "bitching". I ask him what he thinks Father's Day means and he skirts around the issue. I tell him, that I know for sure it isn't about hanging out with your friends (who are not yet fathers by the way) all damn day playing golden tees at a bar. I was HIGHLY annoyed!!
I mean, you have two little kids at home that want to honor you on your day, and judging from your actions, you would rather be with your friends. I don't think it was right.
I don't know. Did I blow it out of proportion?

Second Day and other stuff

My second day of work was a tad more productive. I had my computer, but I still didn't do much, unless you count checking out my favorite blogs. I did take some work home that I plan on completing before I return on Tuesday. I've enjoyed the last couple of days at work and I think I really missed some of the people there. They are not in my usual circle of friends, so it's nice to bet out of my "bubble" and talk to different people.

Next week is going to be a little crazy. I have Bunko, a soccer party and then the next day we have a birthday party to attend. But, those are three days I won't have to make dinner, which is always a plus! Speaking of the birthday party, the invitation said "no gifts please." The party is for two little girls, but should I try to do something anyway? Any thoughts on this? Last year the invitation said the same thing and I made a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation in their name. Should I do the same thing?

First Day

Today was my first day back to work in 9 months. It went pretty well. I emailed the partner yesterday and said there might be a chance I wouldn't be able to come in today due to the fact that Little N had an ear infection. I told him that I hope that wouldn't ruin any back to work parties he planned for me :). Well, Little N was feeling fine today so I dropped the kids off at Mother's Day Out and off to work I drove. It was kind of weird driving the route to work b/c I haven't driven it in so long. It was good to get back into the swing of things.
I arrived at work and was informed that we were having computer problems with one attorney's computer acutally crashing. So, the laptop I was supposed to use, she was now using. Her new computer was not up in running as of today, so I literally sat in my office without a computer for 5 HOURS!!!. I was bored. That's right bored. I walked around, talked to people, caught up on the gossip and want not. But not one pleading, memo or letter was drafted by me today.
Regardless of the fact that I had nothing to do, it was actually OK with me to be bored. Because I haven't been bored in 8 months!! It was nice to get up this morning and take a shower and put on nice clothes. I felt like I had a point this morning.
I'm hoping I have a computer tomorrow, b/c I felt odd being at work and doing nothing today! Well, I take that back, I did call a potential client and told him we weren't going to take his case. Whew! Hard work, let me tell ya!

Vacation Time

Our bags are packed and we are headed to the beach. The closest beach in this neck of the woods is South Padre so that is where we will be for the next week. My kids are so excited. They have never seen the ocean before so their imaginations are running wild about huge sharks, dolphins, etc. A shark maybe, but definitely no dolphins.

I think when I return I'm going to need a vacation from this one all by myself. I don't know about you guys but it is so stressful getting ready for vacations. If I just had myself to pack for I think I would be OK. Yet, I have to pack for myself and 3 other people. Not to mention getting all the laundry done and cleaning the house. I love to return to a clean house. It makes returning home that much better.

So there you have it. Sister #2 will take up the slack while I'm away. We will have a computer down there so I will probably pop in every once in awhile. Until next week.

A Sick Day Already??

This weekend was a weekend full of sick people. Hooray!! It was so much fun dealing with a cranky and clingy 8 month old with a fever and runny nose. Plus, last night I got to be up a whole hell of a lot with a coughing 3 year old! It was awesome. Plus, Big H has the same thing the kids have and he was not as much help as he usually is on the weekend. So, I'm a little tired today.

I took Little N to the doctor today and he has his first ear infection. Wouldn't you know it, the week I stop nursing, he gets an ear infection! The little booger knew I was going back to work tomorrow, so he was just waiting for his time to get sick and possible delay me a day at work. Sigh. The joys of motherhood. He is feeling better today due to the anitbiotics. I'm hoping I can start work tomorrow, b/c I hate telling the partner one thing and then having to delay it. I know he wouldn't care, he's really understanding, but still I hate having to call in a sick day when I haven't even started yet!

Weekend Craft Idea

These dresses don't seem like to much just plain white, but picture them with a monogram on them and the whole image changes. How about a cute embroidered flower or a pair of flip flops. These dresses can be found at Dharma Trading Company and they will only run you $6-$10. They even have long sleeved dresses for the fall. If you are really crafty you can purchase dye from this same company and change the color from white to any color imaginable. The possibilities or endless.

Mother's Day Out and Other Stuff

Little N started Mother's Day Out on Tuesday and his first day was not all that good. First of all he's 8 months old in a room with toddlers around 12-15 months old. So, he's sitting there with toddlers walking around him. I'm sure they will want to push/hit him, which isn't their fault, they're toddlers. I don't know why he has to be in this room. Kind of concerns me but what are you going to do? Anyway, I write down his nap and bottle schedule for his teacher and tell her to just lay him in the crib come nap time and he'll fall asleep. She nods like she understands everything I'm telling her. I see the blank look on her face and realize she has no clue.

I come to pick him up and he only took 2 naps for 35 mintues each! Needless to say, he was exhausted. One teacher commented that Little N sure does have some lungs on him. I asked if he cried a lot and she said only when he was tired and hungry. Well, no shit. Duh?

Yesterday was much better. He took two naps and one was for an hour and a half. They said he seemed a lot more happy than the day before. That's always nice to hear. However, he doesn't go back until next Tuesday so we'll probably have to start from scratch again! Oh, well.

I go back to work next Tuesday--BOOOOO! But, I'm only working part-time and will be in the office only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I'll work the rest from home. Not a bad gig for an attorney.

I told book club that I would bring some fruit and dip to next week's meeting. I have no idea why I said this--I have no recipe! Dumb, I know. So, if you guys have any ideas please send along!

Bread Pudding With Krispy Kreme Donuts

I acquired this recipe the other night at my recipe party. It was in fact one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. I will definitely make this the next time I am serving brunch.

2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box raisins
1 pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.
Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled.
Top with Butter Rum Sauce.

Butter Rum Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 pound box confectioners'
sugar Rum, to taste
Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.

We are back from our adventure to Sea World! It was a great trip, but it sure is good to be home too! Little J had the best time I think he has ever had! The looks on his face as he rode the rides and saw the sights were priceless. I love it.

We went outlet shopping, but Little N DID NOT want to cooperate while there, so our family had to head back to the hotel, while the other couple and their children shopped. Oh, well. The J Crew was great, as was the Kate Spade, Barneys and Lacoste. I wasn't that impressed with the Neiman Marcus.

I will say that although Little J had the best time of his life, he also threw some of his best tantrums and fits as well, due to lack of sleep and over tiredness. We had to keep apologizing to the other couple b/c I felt like we were getting on their nerves. But, they had great attitudes and acted as if they weren't annoyed at all.

It's nice to be back with everyone on the blog world--I spent most of my afternoon today catching up with everyone and it looks like life went on without me!

Food Allergy Awareness

A must see video if you know anybody with food allergies. It is so enlightening to see what a child experiences with food allergies through their very own eyes.

Family Vacation

We are off today on a family vacation to Sea World in San Antonio. We are traveling with another couple who has a little girl the same age as Little J and a baby the same age as Little N. Little J is really excited and I know he's going to love it! We've been talking non-stop about whales for a couple of weeks now. However, we are driving, so please be thinking of us today and tomorrow, as I have no idea what to expect while driving with a 3 year old and a 7 month old. It should be interesting. But, we have plenty of DVD's and food for Little J. As for Little N, well, let's just hope he sleeps a lot!

We are stopping in Dallas today and heading out early tomorrow morning to San Marcos outlet mall, just outside of San Antonio. Apparently, The View ranked it the third best place to shop in the WORLD! They have Neiman Marcus, Saks, Kate Spade, Lacoste, J Crew, etc., etc. Almost any store or brand you can think of, they have it!! I'm excited to find some deals!! I'll definitely keep you posted on my purchases!

I'll be back on Sunday, but S#1 will be here to keep you connected!

Have a good week!
S#2

Oh, by the way, wish S #1 a Happy Birthday this weekend--her birthday is Saturday, June 2nd! (I had to post this b/c I know she's too modest to tell you guys!)

Neiman Marcus Summer

All three bags are Kate Spade. She knows how to do it right, huh? I always like to peruse Neiman Marcus and add things to my Neiman Marcus wish list. Because, you know, some day, I might actually pay off my law school student loans and have extra money to pay for an adorable Lobster tote! (It should be noted that Big H also has student loans from law school. Man, I hate those things!)

I thought this book would be such a cute birthday gift idea for that child that seems to have everything. I need to get this book for myself and see just how many places I have missed in my short 34 ear life.

You Know You Are Loved...

You know you are loved when you walk into your little guys room and instead of glee and a kiss you receive a strawberry and the belting out of "NO DADDY"!

However, when it is time to have your diaper changed it is I, the chosen one, who gets the full fledged honor.

Oh the joys of motherhood!!

Have a fabulous weekend ladies!

Monogrammed Wall Plaques

I love anything that has a monogram or name on it. Especially for my little girl. My husband has made comments in the past that we will never forget her name because it is everywhere. I found these adorable signs from a company called Drooz Studio.
Hop on over there soon because they have the cutest personalized art.

A Better Evening

Last night was ten times better than the previous night! (See previous post) I went to a cooking class with my mother-in-law and Big H had to take care of the kids! The class was great--the chef cooked the whole meal and we watched. Some people took notes, but I was too busy enjoying the wine and champagne to care about the details! I just liked the fact someone was cooking dinner for me .
Bit H also had to take Little J to his soccer game last night. Our team is quite young, we are 3 playing mostly 4 and 5 years old. Our team doesn't quite "get it" yet, so there's a lot of running off the field, picking flowers and crying by our kids. Last night only 3 team members of ours showed up! Three things happened last night that I missed. 1) Our team won. Don't ask me how, but with only 3 players we pulled off an upset. 2) Little J scored a goal. A big improvement from the other games where he would just stand there and look at the ball and run around on the other soccer fields. 3) After Little J scored he went to the middle of the field, dropped his pants and peed. I guess Little J was so excited about his goal, that he to do SOMETHING to show is excitement! The referee was laughing too hard to say do anything about it. So wish we would have caught that on camera.

My Evening

Let me start by saying that Big H was not going to be home this evening because he's involved in a beach volleyball team. That's right, you read it right--beach volleyball. Anyway, we arrived home from swimming lessons around 5:15. (By the way at swimming lessons, it took me 10 minutes to get Little J in the car, while I was holding Little N.) We pull into the driveway. I turn around and look at Little J in the backseat. I say, "please go immediately inside, so I can start dinner.". He looks at me. I look at him. We both look at each other. I sigh. I get out and get Little N out of the car, then I walk around to Little J's side and let him out. We spend 10 minutes outside in the somewhat warm weather. I'm sweating at this point. I finally get him inside and start to prepare dinner.
I sit Little N in his highchair, knowing full well that my time is precious while Little N is not crying or whining. I take out the pork. I begin to prepare the pork. I'm starting to hear a little bit of whining from behind me. But, I keep working. I hear a full scale scream and whine and turn around and see Little J terrorizing Little N---I ask him to stop. He continues what he's doing. I'm still trying to prepare the pork; Little N is SCREAMING, Little J thinks it's funny, so he's running around like a chicken with its head cut off and laughing. I begin to cook the pork. Little N is still SCREAMING. I take a deep breath. I stop and take Little N out of the highchair and hold him. His screaming stops. I'm holding Little N on one hip, while cooking with my free hand.
At this point Little N is getting way to close and grabbing for the hot stove. So, I say f*** it and sit him in his highchair. Immediate screams from his mouth. The pork is not cooking as planned. Little N is still screaming!!! The damn screaming!!! The kitchen fills with smoke, all the while Little N is screaming. Did I mention that he was screaming??
I'm trying to figure out what is going on with the pork. More smoke fills the air. Little N is still doing his thing. All of sudden, Little J comes into the kitchen and says, "mommy, I pooped". What? Are you serious? Come on.
I take him to the bathroom. Clean up his mess. Little N is still crying, the whole house is filled with smoke at this point, and I'm wiping a butt with poop all over it!!! I can't take it!!!!
I have a mild breakdown and try to eat with Little N on my lap--still crying. Little J is running around without any pants or underwear, as I was too busy to put new underwear on.
At 6:15 Bit H rushes through the front door. (His game is at 6:30) Smoke is filling the house, Little N is cranky, Little J is going CRAZY and Bit H says not one word--not one damn word to me. He runs upstairs, changes and then leaves for his game. I think I look like shit and I'm pretty sure I feel like shit at this point and my husband just confirmed all of this to me.

Kids are now in bed. I now have a headache. Big H is now on my shit list.

Sorry. I just had to vent.

What Color Are You?

I am the color green. It says I am a very calm and contemplative person. Others are drawn to my peaceful, nurturing nature.
At times I feel I am this person. What color are you?
